BKLYN DESIGNS Show 5/5-5/8

Check out the annual BKLYN DESIGNS show from May 5-8 at Greenpoint’s Brooklyn Expo Center. Here’s what Christopher Farrell, one of the show’s producer has to say,

“For the first time, the show will kick off the first weekend of the NYCxDESIGN initiative (the official citywide celebration of design from May 3 – 24) , offering Brooklyn-based designers, artists, and makers a great platform to display and sell their work to consumers and the design trade as well as gain media exposure.

To give you a bit of background about the show, BKLYN DESIGNS was founded by the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce in 2003 to serve as an incubator for emerging designers as well as a platform for established brands producing a range of creative products across furniture, lighting, tableware, art, textiles and jewelry. This year’s edition will feature a diverse array of exhibitors from different areas of Brooklyn and varying design disciplines as well as a curated marketplace, design workshops, interactive installations, panel discussions, and more. The show will also feature cafes and bars from Brooklyn’s beloved vendors alongside family-friendly programming throughout the weekend.

We’ve recently launched the call for exhibitors application and are looking for Brooklyn based designers, architects, artists, makers and curators to exhibit. This year we’ve started a new neighborhood focus to highlight creative hubs across the borough. Exhibitors who apply in a neighborhood cluster, with four or more booths, will receive a 15% discount. For the first time, BKLYN DESIGNS has launched a call for installations, challenging the borough’s designers to create a unique installation during the show (more info here).”
