BCL’s office is located among some amazing neighborhoods. With our home in Gowanus, surrounded by neighboring Park Slope and Carroll Gardens, we’ve got plenty of great options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Want to get away from your desk to eat or host a client meeting in the neighborhood? Yup, there’s a place for that!
In this month’s newsletter, we asked our BCL members, What’s your favorite lunch spot in the neighborhood?” and you answered! Thanks to those of you who took the time to answer. Here are some of the eateries you like to frequent:
295 Third Ave - Google Maps says: 2 min walk
Baba’s was mentioned more than once on the list. Members like that the food is great, the owners are friendly, there’s good seating options, and it offers something a little different than your typical options. Plus, how many of you are making pierogies at home? This is a fun little treat for yourself.
Runner and Stone
285 Third Ave - Google Maps says: 1 min walk
Around the corner from BCL is Runner and Stone, an enjoyable spot for a sandwich and salad or soup combination, which “feels like a little retreat,” according to one of our BCL members. Additionally, you can stop by for breads, pastries, coffee and tea, and even brunch if you have time or are around on the weekend.
162 Fifth Ave - Google Maps says: 9 min walk
This casual, eclectic Vietnamese gastropub has plenty of pleasing aesthetics - from the plants, rustic decor, and salvaged wood, you’ll enjoy the ambiance. Not only is the ambiance great, so is the food! There are also options like salads and rolls for those who are unfamiliar with Vietnamese food.
604 Union Street - Google Maps says: 3 min walk
Right around the corner from BCL, on Union Street, is Dino BBQ, which happens to offer affordable, large-portioned lunch specials. For those of you who enjoy a bit of southern charm, brisket, BBQ ribs, and cornbread, this is the spot! Our BCL member likes that it offers a “quick getaway from New York atmosphere.”
Bowl and Blade
169 Fifth Ave - Google Maps says: 9 min walk
Our BCL member suggested this is a great place for something quick, tasty, and healthy. Bowl and Blade has an assortment of options: poke, grain, acai, and salad bowls. With an eclectic range of fruits and vegetables to pair with tofu, meat, or fish, you’re more than likely to find something that suits your fancy.
214 3rd Street - Google Maps says: 8 min walk
Of course you can get your groceries and things here, but you can also stop by the hot and cold food bar to prepare a to-go box of your liking. Members like this option because the food bar lists allergies and ingredients above each dish, there’s a variety of options to choose from, plenty of indoor/outdoor seating upstairs, and it gives you the opportunity to take a nice walk.
So tell us, where else in the neighborhood do you like to grab food? Let’s keep this going and we’ll continue to post more of your favorite locations!
